Location: Okavango Delta

Nxamaseri Island, nestled in the Okavango Delta, is a premier destination for water-based adventures and serene natural beauty. Visitors can explore the delta’s intricate waterways and floodplains aboard motorized boats or experience the peaceful ambiance of a traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe), guided by local experts.

A paradise for bird enthusiasts, Nxamaseri offers sightings of diverse water birds such as kingfishers, herons, storks, and the iconic African Fish Eagle. Keen birders may also spot rarer species like the Pel’s Fishing Owl and the African Skimmer. Fishing is another popular activity, with opportunities to catch tigerfish and bream—fly-fishing is also an option. The “barbel run” between August and October is a prime time for both birdwatching and tigerfishing.

A highlight of any visit is a trip to the nearby Tsodilo Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its spiritual significance and ancient San rock art. With over 4,000 paintings adorning the hills, visitors can hike the area, view the remarkable artwork, and gain insight into the cultural history of the San people.

Additional activities include guided walks on the surrounding islands and scenic flights over the Okavango Delta and Tsodilo Hills, offering breathtaking aerial views of the landscape and the ancient rock art below.
