Run Gabz By Night Marathon

The Run Gabz By Night Marathon is Botswana’s inaugural night marathon, established to promote community unity and address rising safety concerns in Gaborone. The event offers participants the unique experience of running through the city’s streets under the stars, with race categories including 5km, 10km, and 21km distances.

The marathon has garnered significant attention, attracting over 2,000 runners from various nations and securing support from both local and international sponsors. Beyond the race itself, the event serves as a platform for community engagement, emphasizing crime prevention and response. Collaborations with entities such as the Botswana Police and the Lions Den (Botswana Police Athletics Club) have been integral to its mission.
