CEDA Insurance Brokers (CIB)

CEDA Insurance Brokers (CIB) is a fully licensed insurance brokerage firm in Botswana and a subsidiary of the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA). It was launched in September 2023 as part of CEDA’s broader mandate to support citizen-owned businesses through both financial and non-financial assistance. CEDA itself is a government-established agency that provides services such as loan finance, equity, lease loans, property loans, trade finance, structured financing, business advisory services, training, and mentoring.

CIB was created as one of CEDA’s tools to help entrepreneurs and farmers, particularly those supported by CEDA, manage risk more effectively, though its services are also available more broadly. The brokerage offers agricultural insurance solutions, including crop insurance for losses caused by perils such as hail, windstorms, frost, pests, and diseases; livestock or herd insurance covering mortality risks from disease, accidents, theft, and transit; and farm infrastructure insurance that protects structures, equipment, and related assets. In addition to agricultural insurance, CIB also provides standard insurance products such as life and health insurance, property and liability insurance, and vehicle insurance for both private and commercial use.
