UNICEF Botswana promotes and protects the rights and wellbeing of every child in Botswana, ensuring that children’s rights to survival, development, protection, and participation are realised. It works with the Government of Botswana and partners to expand access to quality social services, adopt healthy and protective behaviours, and support active child and youth participation in society. UNICEF’s programmes in Botswana focus on areas such as health and nutrition, education, child protection, HIV, adolescent development, social policy, and social and behaviour change, with the goal of creating an environment where all children especially the most disadvantaged can thrive and have equal opportunities in life.
