Siwelele Social Club

Siwelele Social Club is a vibrant social football team based in Gaborone, Botswana. Founded in 2006, the club originated from a group of friends—including artists, soldiers, taxi drivers, and others—who began gathering for weekend football matches at the Block 5 flats in 2005. These informal games fostered camaraderie and mutual support, eventually leading to the formal establishment of the club.

The club’s ethos centers on friendship, community upliftment, and social responsibility. Beyond football, Siwelele Social Club engages in various charitable activities. Notably, they have adopted Taung Primary School, assisting with school maintenance, providing financial support for prize-giving ceremonies, donating livestock for traditional celebrations, and supplying uniforms and sanitary pads to underprivileged students.

In the realm of sports, Siwelele has made significant strides. In September 2024, the club clinched the inaugural Carling Black Label Sunday Soccer Tournament, securing a prize of P75,000.
