Northern Tuli Game Reserve

Northern Tuli Game Reserve
Location: Tuli

The Northern Tuli Game Reserve (Notugre) is a vast wildlife sanctuary spanning approximately 72,000 hectares in the northeastern region of Botswana’s Tuli Block. Bordered by South Africa to the south and Zimbabwe to the east, the reserve is part of the Greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area. This unique landscape features diverse habitats, including riverine forests along the Limpopo, Shashe, and Motloutse rivers, towering sandstone cliffs, basalt formations, and mopane woodlands. Such varied environments support a rich array of wildlife, making the reserve a premier destination for nature enthusiasts.
Visitors to the Northern Tuli Game Reserve can expect exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities. The area is home to abundant elephant populations, habituated leopards, and regular sightings of lions, cheetahs, and wild dogs. Antelope species such as klipspringer, waterbuck, impala, and eland also inhabit the reserve. Beyond traditional guided game drives, guests can engage in activities like walking safaris, mountain biking, horseback riding, and even hot-air ballooning, depending on the specific offerings of their chosen lodge.
The reserve is managed by a landowners association committed to conservation and ecological integrity. This collaborative approach ensures that tourism and wildlife utilization are conducted sustainably, benefiting the land, local communities, and the broader ecosystem.
