National Development Bank - NDB
Established in 1963 under an act of parliament, the National Development Bank (NDB) stands as a cornerstone of Botswana’s financial landscape. Owned by the Government of Botswana, NDB operates under the stewardship of a Board of Directors appointed by the Minister of Finance and Development Planning. Notably, in 1998, NDB became the first bank in Africa to achieve certification under the ISO 9001:2000 International Quality Standards, marking its commitment to excellence and quality.
NDB’s mission is to deliver a diverse range of financial services to both the business sector and the general public, while ensuring satisfactory returns on shareholder funds. As a Development Financial Institution (DFI), NDB is both viable and self-sustaining, playing a significant role in bolstering the local economy.
