Ghanzi Airport
Ghanzi Airport (IATA: GNZ, ICAO: FBGZ) is a small public airstrip located approximately 1 kilometer northeast of Ghanzi town in western Botswana. The airport sits at an elevation of 3,729 feet above sea level and features a single asphalt runway (06/24) that is about 1,525 meters long. Primarily serving private and charter aircraft, the airport plays a strategic role in connecting the remote Ghanzi region to the rest of the country. Although it does not host scheduled commercial flights, it is recognized as a port of entry, with immigration and customs services available upon request. Due to limited infrastructure, operations are restricted to daylight hours, and there is no control tower or runway lighting. The facility is often used by tourists, government agencies, and bush pilots accessing the Kalahari area.
Ghanzi Airport is managed under the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB), which oversees operations and air safety across the country. While there is no dedicated website or social media profile for the airport itself, all inquiries and coordination can be directed through CAAB.
