Tati Land Board
The Tati Land Board (TLB) is a statutory body in Botswana responsible for managing and allocating tribal land within the North East District, which includes the Tati Tribal Area. It was established under the Tribal Land Act and functions as a trustee for tribal land, holding it for the benefit of all citizens to promote economic and social development.
The board’s jurisdiction covers Masunga, Vukwi, Kalakamati, Makaleng, Toteng, Botalaote, Mambo, Matenge, Sechele, Gulubane, Sekakangwe, Gambule, Gungwe, Mbalambi, Letsholathebe, Mulambakwena, Mosojane, Masingwaneng, Pole, Masukwane, Kgari, Zwenshambe, Nlapkhwane, Mapoka, Moroka, Ramokgwebana, Tshesebe, Tsamaya, Jackalas 1, Jackalas 2, Mowana, Mabudzane, Themashanga, Butale, Senyawe, Siviya, Tatisiding, Shashebridge, Matshelagabedi, Matsiloje, Matopi, Ditladi, and Patayamatebele. The primary responsibilities of the TLB include land allocation, land administration, policy implementation, and community engagement.
Functions of Tati Land Board include:
- The granting of rights to use any land;
- The cancellation of the grant of any rights to use any land;
- The imposition of restrictions on the use of tribal land;
- Authorising any change of user of tribal land;
