Wat Buddha Samakhee in Gaborone, Botswana, is a Buddhist temple also known locally as Wat Bo Hua, founded through the devotion of a Chinese‑Botswanan couple and international Buddhists to create a spiritual centre where practitioners of all Buddhist traditions can come together in harmony without distinction between Theravada and Mahayana practices. The temple was established on land donated on the outskirts of Gaborone with guidance from senior monks from Thailand, and its foundation stone was laid in 2010; it was officially inaugurated in July 2016 with the participation of Buddhist clergy and devotees from Botswana, Thailand, China, and Sri Lanka. Today, Wat Buddha Samakhee serves as a place of worship, meditation, and community for both local and international Buddhists, featuring traditional Buddhist architecture and supporting monastic residency and religious activities.
