The Midweek Sun is a popular weekly newspaper in Botswana published by CBET (Pty) Ltd as part of the same media group that produces The Botswana Guardian. It was first launched in 1989 and has grown into a widely read mid‑week publication that targets a broad audience, including youth and adult readers, with a focus on human‑interest stories, lifestyle features, entertainment, and uplifting content alongside news and current events.
Known for its accessible, engaging style, The Midweek Sun complements more traditional news reporting by offering content that appeals to readers seeking lighter, feel‑good stories and perspectives from across the country. With an estimated weekly print run of over 21,000 copies and an extended readership reaching well over 100,000, the paper has established itself as a prominent voice in Botswana’s media landscape.
