The Ministry of International Relations of the Republic of Botswana is responsible for formulating, managing, and coordinating the country’s foreign policy and international relations. Its mandate includes representing Botswana internationally; promoting and protecting national political, economic, social, cultural, and security interests abroad; and fostering bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
The Ministry coordinates communication between the Government of Botswana and the international community, oversees Botswana’s diplomatic missions, and provides consular services and assistance to citizens overseas. It also manages diplomatic privileges and immunities, administers state protocol, and coordinates state and official visits, ensuring Botswana’s effective participation in international and regional forums.
