Botswana Press Agency (BOPA) is the national news agency of Botswana, established to gather and distribute news and information for government-owned media and to support nationwide reporting. The Daily News and the Botswana Press Agency (BOPA) operate under the same government ownership, effectively functioning as two arms of Botswana’s official state media, with BOPA producing news content and Daily News disseminating it to the public.
Operating under the Department of Information Services within the Ministry for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, BOPA produces and disseminates news content that is widely used by state media outlets across radio, print, and broadcast platforms.
With offices throughout the country, BOPA plays an important role in covering events and developments across Botswana, particularly in areas that may be less accessible to private media. Its work contributes to government communication, public awareness, and information sharing across the nation.
